Five Trends To Watch For In 2020

While we slowly edge into the new season, it’s a great time of year to take an overview of what the International Designers have mapped out for 2020. In some ways here in the Southern hemisphere we have a slight edge, because the Fashion Shows dictating the Northern Hemispheres autumn/winter 2020/21 trends are taking place right now. So, from the catwalks of New York to London to Milan, the fashion forecast is available, and ready for us to take inspiration from to ensure we start our autumn in style.

Leather It Up

All over leather is a hot look for 2020/21, as seen on the current catwalks – and with autumn upon us, we are seasonally positioned to do it here first! Perfect for the approach into cooler months, a leather item (or two) in your wardrobe can be guaranteed to earn its keep. Gone are the days of hard, restrictive hides – now leather is butter soft, stretchy and moulds to your body. Manufacturing innovations ensure that it can be crafted into the most stunning styles. Throw into the mix that that the trend is leaning towards coloured versions, and you have a wardrobe staple.

Knit Kit

Check Mate

Big Bags

2019’s penchant for the micro bag has passed, and in a true fashion back lash, one of the main trends to come is - the bigger the better. A sigh of relief from anyone who tried to ram anything more than their sunnies and phone into a tiny vessel; there is a certain amount of joy in knowing you can shove everything bar the kitchen sink into your daily bag, and still look cool as a cucumber.
