CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Please make sure to follow the specific care instructions provided on each garment tag.

COTTON: Wash cotton in cold water as warm water can shrink cotton garments, use a hot steam iron if needed.

WOOL: Wash wool in cold water to preserve thread quality in the fabric. Wool should not be washed regularly, but close to once a season is best. Do not hang to dry as your garment will loose its shape, but rather lay it flat. Do not heat to dry as your garment may shrink.
Do not iron wool, you can however use steam on the underside of the fabric.

DENIM: Wash denim before wearing. To avoid shrinking denim, wash in cold water and use low heat if drying. The shrinking properties of cotton allow you to wash denim once worn to get the original shape back.

POLYESTER: Wash in cold or warm water and use a fabric softener. It is sensitive to heat so use iron at low temperature inside out with no steam.
Some garments with polyester may be dryclean only make sure you check the manufacturers label.

ELASTANE: You can generally use a cold or lukewarm machine wash. Be sure to use a cool iron though. Hang to dry

ACRYLIC: Acrylic can be machine washed in warm water and placed in a dryer at a low temperature. To keep soft and fresh add a fabric
softener. It can be dry cleaned and also ironed at a low temperature.

NYLON: Wash Nylon in cold or warm water. Iron the fabric inside out and at a low temperature with no steam as nylon is sensitive to heat.

VISCOSE: Wash in cold water and iron at a low heat. Try to avoid pegging viscose on the clothes line as the pegs can leave indents when fabric
is wet.

RAYON: Some women's fashion garments will be dry clean only check the label to see if yours is. Hand wash or machine wash in lukewarm or cool water. Do not tumble dry. Instead, dry flat as rayon may stretch when wet. Press with iron at cool temperature with no steam. Do not wring or twist dry.

SILK: Silk should be dry cleaned only. However, if you must wash silk, it should be hand washed with a suitable delicate soap to help the garment retain its shape. Avoid wringing, spin drying and tumble drying silk.

ACETATE: Acetate should only be hand washed with warm water. Do not tumble dry. It can melt under heat or from chemicals in nail polish and nail polish remover. Don’t soak, twist or wring dry acetate. Use a cool iron, and a place a light cloth between iron and garment.

LINEN: Wash by hand in cold water. Avoid tumble drying. Use a hot steam iron on your garment before folding or hanging up.

LEATHER: Wipe surface clean with a damp cloth, wipe dry. Dry clean only with a specialist leather drycleaner.

POLYURETHANE: Wipe surface clean with damp cloth. Do not wash. Allow to dry. Keep away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry. Do not Dry clean.

SHOE CARE: Regularly clean, condition and polish your leather shoes for longer lasting wear. Weather proofing with a water repellant product not only helps repel water but will help resist dirt and stains. Re-apply the product after you clean your footwear. Follow the directions on the water repellant in order to achieve the best results. Store suede footwear in a dry place away from sunlight. Don’t crowd them in a closet because the material needs to breathe.
Moisture can cause them to mildew. Sunlight can fade colour.

BAG CARE: Keep your handbag away from direct sunlight for periods of time. This can cause severe fading even on the finest leathers.
If your bag has a chain handle, store the chain inside the bag to avoid scratching the outside leather when the bag is resting.
Always apply leather conditioners to a cloth rather than directly onto the leather.  Only use the rain repellent after firstly conditioning the bag. Then apply the repellent in smooth continuous sweeping motions to avoid concentrated areas of product, which if uneven could stain a bag. Do not use leather conditioner on patent bags. Always handle leather handbags with clean hands. Leather bags are susceptible to absorbing grease and oils. White bags will yellow or naturally darken with age.

BELT CARE: If needed, dust off belt after wear with a soft, dry cloth.
If something accidentally spills on your belt, blot the stains with a clean cloth and use a product that was specially formulated for cleaning leather, followed by a leather softening agent. Leather softeners and cleaners have essential oils in them to replenish the natural oils originally found in the leather. If your belt becomes wet, lay it flat and let it dry at room temperature.
Never put a leather belt into the clothes dryer as this can cause it to harden and lose its shape.

JEWELLERY CARE: Avoid direct contact with perfume, make-up and other harmful chemicals. Do not wear jewellery when sleeping. Avoid wearing jewellery when doing sports etc. Clean jewellery with a soft damp cloth and steer clear of using soap on softer gems such as pearls. Store pieces in a soft jewellery bag or away from other pieces to prevent scratching.

SCARF CARE: Hand wash only. Always wash separately as colour may bleed.
Dry cleaning inflicts the fabric with harsh chemicals. These will have undesirable effects on both the material and the dye. Do not rub soap into stains, this produces a rub spot. Never add any harsh chemicals such as or containing bleach.
